If you’ve ever browsed our TAC Vapes, you’ve probably noticed the terms Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid. A lot of people think these are just botanical categories. But really, they mostly tell you one thing: how the terpene profile of a strain is made up – and with that, how the vape will affect your body and mind.

Terpenes are natural aroma compounds that do more than just give flavor. Together with cannabinoids, they fundamentally shape how a product feels. This isn’t just marketing – it’s a real effect discussed in research as the entourage effect: cannabinoids and terpenes work together, not in isolation.

Expert Opinion

“Two vapes with the same cannabinoid content but different terpene profiles create noticeably different experiences. The terpene profile is the real character of a strain – not just the cannabinoid number.”

All TAC Vapes from Happy's Amsterdam contain 5% natural terpenes straight from the plant – no synthetic flavors, no additives. The terpene profile of each strain shapes how you experience it.

Indica – when your body finally gets to unwind

Indica strains originally come from the high mountain regions of Central Asia – Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Hindu Kush. The dominant terpene in most Indicas is myrcene – earthy, musky, also found in hops. It’s joined by linalool (calming, known from lavender) and caryophyllene, the only terpene that can bind directly to CB2 receptors.

The result is what enthusiasts call a “body high”: a relaxing, heavy feeling in your body that melts away stress and calms your mind. Indicas are evening strains – perfect after a long day or right before bed.

Indica is great for: After work, relaxing after sports, quiet evenings, before bed – basically, whenever you want to really unwind.

Sativa – energy, focus, and a clear head

Cannabis sativa grows under tropical sun – tall, slim, airy. The main terpene in Sativa strains is often limonene – the citrusy terpene known for its uplifting and anxiety-reducing effects. You’ll also often find terpinolene (floral, slightly energizing) or ocimene (sweet and fruity).

Sativa strains are all about the “head high”: clear-headed, light on your feet, with a boost of creativity and sociability. Sativas are daytime strains – perfect for working out, creative projects, or hanging out with friends.

Sativa is great for: Starting your day, creative projects, workouts, hanging out with friends

fen with friends – anywhere you want to feel present and alive.

Hybrid – when you can't decide

Almost everything today is a hybrid – a crossbreed that’s been created to combine the strengths of both types. Hybrids can be indica-dominant, sativa-dominant, or truly balanced. They’re perfect for beginners and indecisive moments – you get a well-rounded experience without one side taking over too much.

Hybrid is great for:
Afternoons, chill evenings with friends, situations where you don’t need to go full throttle or crash out.

Our recommendation

If you’re new, start with a hybrid like the Cali Exoticz – balanced, pleasant, and no surprises. If you want to wind down in the evening, go for the Cherry Kush (Indica). For an active day, we recommend the Super Lemon Haze (Sativa).
